From News Center (Text by Tang Yuqin, International Exchange Department and School of International Education  Photos by Ma Keda, Cheng Zongwen, Media Center) "Maybe we can be friends!" "OK, I am so happy!" – before the opening ceremony, Chinese and Vietnamese students had been chatting enthusiastically, filling the venue with a vibrant atmosphere of youth and friendship. On the morning of March 23, the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Luban Workshop Student AI Study Tour was held joyfully at the Ingenuity Academy at our university. Teachers and students from Hanoi College for Electro-Mechanics (HCEM) of Vietnam met with representatives from our university, officially beginning a week-long study tour focused on "artificial intelligence + cultural exchange."

Mr. Qiu Fuming, Member of the LZPU Standing Committee and Vice President, noted in his speech that our university and Hanoi College for Electro-Mechanics have been connected through the "Luban Workshop" and have maintained close collaboration invocational education for many years. This study tourfeatures artificial intelligence as its core content for the first time, which is an innovative upgrade in our partnership. He encouraged the Vietnamese students to deeply explore the innovative applications of AI inelectromechanics during their studies, to experience Liuzhou's industrial culture and scenic beauty, and to gain knowledge, friendship, and personal growth.

"This is my first time in Liuzhou. I can see its beautiful landscapes, and  also the strong learning atmosphere. I am really looking forward to the AI courses, hoping to experience advanced technology, broaden my horizons, and bring new knowledge back to Vietnam," said Le Van Tien Dung, a Vietnamese student representative, capturing the anticipation for this study tour.

At the opening ceremony, Chinese and Vietnamese students jointly presented a wonderful cultural performance, including the Chinese dance Folk Song of Midu, the Vietnamese song Oh, Vietnam, and the song and dance Love Flows Like the River... The event culminated with a rousing group sing-along of Hand in Hand. During the icebreaker games, students taught each other phrases in Chinese and Vietnamese such as "good morning" and "thank you," quickly bridging distances amidst applause and laughter.

Over the following week, the Vietnamese students will attend AI classes at the university, learning cutting-edge technologies such as AIGC tools, quadruped robot dog programming, and building intelligent agents. They will also engage in immersive study and cultural experiences at venues such as the Liuzhou Industrial Museum and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, experiencing the city's charm and industrial spirit through"learning, visiting, and exploring."

Back in May 2024, our university officially signed an agreement with LiuGong and Hanoi College for Electro-Mechanics to jointly establish the Vietnam Luban Workshop project. At the signing ceremony, Dong Van Ngoc, President of the College, expressed his hope for "cooperation in advanced Chinese technology such as artificial intelligence." Now the vision has become a reality – this study tour marks the first in-depth exchange focused on artificial intelligence. Since the Luban Workshop project was established, our university has successfully conducted three sessions of teacher training and organized skills and cultural exchange activities involving 94 participants, deepening the friendship between the two sides. The connections, from teacher training and cultural exchange to a student study tour on artificial intelligence, signify a new step in expanding our partnership into the digital and intelligent fields.
